Two tips to teach you how to distinguish good and bad steel mesh~

Steel mesh, also known as welded mesh, is a mesh in which longitudinal and transverse steel bars are arranged at a certain distance and at right angles to each other, and all intersections are welded together. It has the characteristics of heat preservation, sound insulation, earthquake resistance, waterproofing, simple structure and light weight, and is generally widely used in the construction industry.

Determine the thickness of steel bars
To distinguish the quality of steel mesh, first look at its steel bar thickness. For example, for a 4 cm steel mesh, under normal circumstances, the steel bar thickness needs to be about 3.95 when using a micrometer caliper to measure it. However, in order to cut corners, some suppliers replace the steel bars with 3.8 or even 3.7 in thickness, and the price quoted will be much cheaper. Therefore, when purchasing steel mesh, you can't just compare the price, and the quality of the goods also needs to be checked clearly.

Determine the mesh size
The second is the mesh size of the steel mesh. The conventional mesh size is basically 10*10 and 20*20. When purchasing, you only need to ask the supplier how many wires * how many wires it is. For example, 10*10 is generally 6 wires * 8 wires, and 20*20 is 10 wires * 18 wires. If the number of wires is less, the mesh will be larger, and the material cost will be reduced.

Therefore, when purchasing steel mesh, you must carefully confirm the thickness of the steel bars and the size of the mesh. If you are not careful and accidentally purchase products that do not meet the quality standards, it will affect the quality and safety of the project.
